And then the bomb dropped!
Capcom has just released an announcement video trailer in YouTube concerning the remake of the first Onimusha videogame in High Definition edition for the PlayStation 4 and other current consoles.
Onimusha was a videogame for the Playstation 2, produced by “Capcom” company that made gamers worldwide love it. It became an instant success with sales resulting to 2 million copies worldwide thus adding to the fortune of the company (with a rough estimate) 100 million dollars.
The setting unfolds in medieval Japan between 1467 and 1568 A.D. starring samurai Sammanoske Akechi and his female ninja assistant Kaede with the goal to find princess Yuki, the later abducted by the enemy.
The re-release, which will launch officially in the 15th of January 2019, will entail:
- Modern improved high definition graphics for the characters, scenery and cinematographic cut scenes
- Widescreen support (twenty years ago all the televisions were square)
- “Screeenroll” feature so the background scrolls up and down depending on character movement, just like the remasters of Resident evil 1 and 0
- Analogue stick support (twenty years ago we played the game, just with the directional buttons)
- New soundtrack
In America you can purchase the game in a retail disc.
In Europe, “Capcom her Excellency” supplies it only in digital format and that’s a very bad thing because it is called discrimination.
Gamers in Europe and worldwide are specifically in favor of retail discs. Buyers want the game in a Blu-Ray disk. Digital downloads are not a gamers thing.
We await the game with great anticipation as well as we are eager for the arrival of the next two games, Onimusha 2 and 3. Everybody buy it, support the product.
And one last thing…
Do you see all this SquareEnix? Just so you know, gamers worldwide still wait for the Soul Reaver games. Get on to in, chop-chop!
